Multiple passengers and crew sustained injuries following a Delta Airlines jet from LA to Sydney, Australia encountered significant turbulence on Friday morning.
Flight DL41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it made its approach and landed at the Sydney airport, an airline spokesperson informed. Several cabin crew members sustained injuries.
Local paramedics stated they treated five patients, and took three to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries that such as back pain and migraines. Those affected were between their 30s up to the 70s.
It is the newest example of planes being hit by severe turbulence, with aviation specialists indicating that shifting climate patterns is a significant contributor.
