Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
