Loyal followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who leaped a barrier and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared video depicts the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors walked down a promenade flanked by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the premiere by event staff.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account includes clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented a further response on Instagram.
A number of attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals demanded social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.
In clips shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
Many of attendees had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the well-known theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two contrasting sorceresses.
The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.
They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, securing several for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
