In the extremely cutthroat arena of interactive entertainment, it's usual for fresh competitors to disappear as swiftly as they enter the scene.
But this new installment is striving to change that.
Here comes the latest entry in a long-standing warfare game line commonly described as a more realistic response to the CoD series.
The title has not quite been able to equal its top opponent in aspects of revenue or user base, but there are signs the recent entry could close the gap.
A trial event giving gamers a chance to test the release in recent months set new benchmarks, and the hype heading into its release has been huge.
However the endeavor is still a big venture for publisher Electronic Arts, which has according to sources spent vast amounts of money producing it.
Reporters have spoken to a number of the creators to discover how they hope it will succeed.
Four studios were working on the title under the collaborative banner.
This includes long-time producer the Swedish studio, based in Sweden, LA's Motive developers and the Canadian studio in Canada.
One more, the Guildford team, is situated in Guildford.
Rebecka Coutaz is the general manager of the two European teams, and tells us that, in respect of what it's offering players, "the latest installment is likely unbeatable."
The new release follows the release of the sci-fi the last installment, launched four years ago to a unfavorable response it struggled to recover from.
"It's likely that we couldn't create and produce Battlefield 6 lacking the learnings we acquired in the last release," the manager tells the press.
One of those lessons was to involve fans involved early, and the developers started exclusive fan trials in recent months.
Their "feedback was extremely positive," comments she.
Another absent ingredient from the last game was a solo experience, which has been restored in this version.
The UK studio creative lead Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the one responsible for "guaranteeing those stages are as enjoyable and compelling as feasible for the audience."
Regardless of reports that the size of the game had created pressure for the different teams working together across continents to develop the project, he is upbeat about the work.
"Partnering with diverse backgrounds, different backgrounds, it's a truly engaging setting to be part of on a regular basis," he says.
"This entire approach has been a fresh take but also very inspiring because we are collaborating with people from all over the world."
Regarding the anticipation on the team, the director comments: "We experience pressure but also it's exciting.
"This is a large venture. It's arguably the largest that most of us have ever participated in."

This young professional makes the atmospheric effects that shape the tone, tone, and narrative of the solo experience.
The artist completed an training period at the developer before obtaining a job at the company, and presently is employed part-time while concluding his digital arts degree at Bournemouth University.
Vlad states he's a dedicated supporter of the Battlefield series, and recollects experiencing the earlier title of the franchise at a buddy's place when he was younger.
To be on it now, as his first career position, "is hard to believe as real."
"It's really crazy observing the marketing all around," he shares.
"Realizing that I have contributed my own thing into the game is very unbelievable."
The new game's launch is expected to be a significant event, with observers estimating it could distribute a total of five millions {copies|units|versions
