Roger Tuivasa-Sheck gained 20 international appearances for New Zealand before transferring allegiance to the Samoan team.

The NRL's authority has stated that participants who enter the “breakaway” R360 will be barred for a decade.

The proposed competition, scheduled to begin in October 2026, is hoping to draw rugby union and rugby league players with substantial agreements and a reduced fixture list.

Leading rugby league athletes have reportedly received offers by the new league, which will include six or eight men's sides and four women's sides based in key urban centers around the world.

Representing Samoa the player, who represents the Warriors in the league, has confirmed he has had talks with the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Haas and Jye Gray are also reported to be weighing up offers from the new competition.

A group of union nations, such as Australia, recently imposed a ban on R360 recruits appearing in international matches.

“We have consulted our teams and we've acted decisively,” stated Australian Rugby League Commission chief the official.

“Regrettably, there will persistently exist groups that try to exploit our sport for potential financial gain.

“They don't invest in development systems or the development of talent. They simply exploit the efforts of other organizations, jeopardizing careers of financial loss while gaining personally.

“Essentially, they are, copying the game.”

R360 is launched by retired international Tindall and supported by commercial backers.

Following the prospective union prohibitions were revealed last week, it said: “We aim to collaborate together as a component of the global rugby calendar.

“The competition is designed with bespoke schedules for both genders and R360 will release all players for international matches, as specified in their contracts.”

The breakaway group will request authorization for its initiatives from the international authority, the sport's governing body, at its council meeting next year.
