Trio In Contention for Young Sports Personality Award

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The show will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
