Ways these Denver Broncos together with their malleable quarterback can stop that Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the amount of penalties both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

However it was good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a team that wants to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the field downfield side to side. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is kind of like moldable clay. He can truly build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to be in their division. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
